Chapter 300 Illuminated Manuscript Leaves Offered For Sale Here First

Before I put these 15th century illuminated manuscript leaves up for sale at my website, I thought I’d offer them for sale through the blog first. Description and price follows each picture. Recto and verso of each leaf are shown.

ILLUMINATED LEAF FROM A BOOK OF HOURS, ON VELLUM. France, c. 1450. $400

Bar border in pink and gold on each side of the page, three quarter borders composed of blue and orange acanthus, coloured flowers, gold leaves on hair-line stems, 2 two-line initials on burnished gold grounds.

Measures 4 x 5 1/2 inches. 17 lines of text in a rounded gothic hand.

    If you’re looking to make room (and a bit of money) I’d definitely start listing on Those Sites.

    And neat – I just discovered that I can type “index, biblio., notes” with just the right hand, while the left hand confirms that the book does, in fact, have “index, biblio., notes”, almost as quick as I can two-handedly!
