A quick post to say we are safely home from our 16-day journey through six amazing western states — California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Idaho. We are back in Northern California, the land of chardonnay, balsamic vinaigrette, and vegans. 🙂
One thing I didn’t anticipate about an RV trip is how long it takes to unpack an RV and clean it when the trip is done. (Sigh.)
We saw a lot of amazing sights, met interesting people, and adapted pretty well to a few small mishaps and changes in route along the way. You know that I am not by nature a lover of camping, but I would do this trip again in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend it to anyone contemplating such a trip.
Total miles added up after we got home, including changes in route — 4,200 — not the 3,600 that were in our original plan.
Hope to have some photos for you soon, and, of course, will be returning to blogging about books as I begin to get caught up with things around here.
Many thanks to all of you bookish sorts who read the blog while I posted about what I did for summer vacation. And for those who miss the book posts, they are coming back soon. For those who went the extra mile and left comments, thank you very much. It’s been fun to be able to share this trip.
I had a great trip, and as my Irish great-grandmother used to remark in a thick brogue, “It’s nice to go dear, but sure it’s nice to come home.”
